NV5 is seeking a Shop & Field Technician. In this dynamic position, you will enjoy exceptional variety across both shop and job site environments—tackling everything from precision pipe layout, fitting, and pressure testing to operating heavy equipment. You will collaborate closely with skilled welders, contractors, and field teams while traveling up to 30% to exciting project locations.

• General support of shop and field projects for LNG and natural gas plants
• Selects equipment, components, valves, flanges, and plans layout for assembly
• Lays out, positions, aligns pipe, and helps to fabricate components
• Bolts and clamps to secure in position for welders
• Pressure testing of pipe used for installation at gas plants
• Repairs assembled pipes by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling
• Equipment operation (e.g. lulls, lifts, fork trucks, etc.)
• Drive trucks w/ or w/o trailers locally and occasionally to jobs sites
• Will be required to travel in support of construction projects in the field up to 30% including some overnight travel
• General labor support for shop and field operations

• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and co-workers
• Mechanically inclined
• Knowledge of MS Excel Spreadsheet software and MS Word Processing software
• General aptitude and knowledge of tools that support fabrication and construction efforts
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or five years related experience in the construction/trades industry and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
